Lodge Bridge of Fellowship No. 929 (LBOF 929) works the Emulation ritual in the English language under the Grand Lodge of British Freemasonry in Germany (GL BFG) within the United Grand Lodges of Germany – Brotherhood of Freemasons (VGLvD).
The lodge originates in Nienburg/Weser and moved to Hannover in 1999. Its first Hannover venue was the Willy-Täger-Haus, then the principal Masonic centre of the Großloge der Alten Freien und Angenommenen Maurer von Deutschland. By that time, the nearby Land Liaison Office of the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR) had already closed; any earlier neighbourhood connection was purely coincidental.
In the late 2010s and early 2020s, meetings were held at the Offizierheim Hannover-Bothfeld, enabled through the support of a Worshipful or Past Master serving as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Bundeswehr Reserve. When structural constraints at the officers’ mess ended that arrangement, the lodge relocated to the Logenhaus Lemförder Straße in Hannover-Südstadt-Bult, where meetings are held today. This modern, dignified setting lies close to the Lower Saxony State Chancellery, reflecting continuity and openness within Hannover’s civic life.
The membership of LBOF 929 is international and diverse, bringing together Brethren from many nations, traditions, religions, and convictions. English is the working language, providing a shared foundation for fellowship while honouring the lodge’s British roots. True to its founding purpose, the lodge seeks to be a genuine bridge of fellowship—fostering friendship, tolerance, and understanding across national traditions within the Masonic family.
