Freemasonry is sometimes described as a secret society, yet the truth is far more straightforward.
Our existence, meeting places, and principles are openly known. Freemasons publish books, maintain websites, and take part in public events such as Remembrance Sunday or charitable initiatives.
What Freemasonry truly values is discretion — the understanding that some parts of our ceremonies and modes of recognition belong to the shared experience of membership. These symbolic elements create a bond of trust and continuity reaching back for centuries.
The moral lessons taught in the Lodge are no secret at all: they centre on honesty, integrity, compassion, and self-improvement. Freemasonry encourages its members to practise these values openly in daily life.
So while we meet in private, we do not hide; and while we preserve our traditions, we welcome respectful curiosity.
At Lodge Bridge of Fellowship No. 929, we believe that true light is never concealed — only discovered through reflection, fellowship, and sincere intent.
