Connection with Royal Hanover Lodge No. 1777 (UGLE)

Lodge Bridge of Fellowship No. 929 has established a friendly relationship with the Royal Hanover Lodge No. 1777, warranted under the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE). Both lodges share a historic link to the city of Hannover, and both uphold the traditions of Emulation working within the wider family of regular Freemasonry.

The exchange of visits and correspondence between the two lodges began shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic, which unfortunately brought these activities to a temporary halt. It remains our firm intention to revive this connection and continue building the bridge of friendship once regular travel and lodge exchanges are fully restored.

The crest of the Royal Hanover Lodge is, by gracious permission of the House of Hanover, the authentic Royal Crest of that era. Its supporters — the crowned lion and the unicorn — are identical to those used in the English Royal Arms, symbolising loyalty to the Crown and the unity of the Craft under the English Constitution.

By contrast, the crest of Lodge Bridge of Fellowship No. 929 was inspired by similar heraldic tradition but reflects a broader spirit of fellowship. Its supporters resemble those of the Scottish Royal Crest, with the same lion and unicorn flanking the square and compasses. Between them, the bridge and clasped hands symbolise our lodge’s defining purpose — to connect Brethren across nations, constitutions, and generations.

Although separated by time and jurisdiction, both lodges share the same ideals of friendship, continuity, and honour, and we look forward to renewing this Anglo-Hanoverian bond in Masonry.
